Flyknit Shoe Upper with Rubber Printing

Flyknit Shoe Upper with Rubber Printing

1.Flyknit is a lightweight, breathable, and form-fitting shoe upper material made from knitted yarns. It is widely used in athletic and casual footwear due to its flexibility and comfort. However, to enhance durability, aesthetics, and structural support, rubber printing (or rubberized coating) is often applied to specific areas of the flyknit upper.

2. Purpose of Rubber Printing on Flyknit

Reinforcement: Adds stiffness to high-stress zones (e.g., toe cap, heel counter).

Aesthetic Enhancement: Allows for intricate designs, logos, and color contrasts.

Improved Grip & Durability: Rubber coatings can enhance abrasion resistance.

Water Resistance: Some rubber prints provide a water-repellent layer.

3. Common Rubber Printing Techniques

(1) Screen Printing

- A mesh screen transfers rubber-based ink onto the flyknit surface.

- Suitable for detailed patterns and logos.

- Requires precise curing to ensure adhesion.

(2) Pad Printing

- Uses a silicone pad to apply rubber ink onto uneven surfaces.

- Ideal for small, intricate designs.

(3) Digital Printing (Direct-to-Fabric)

- Uses inkjet technology to print rubberized coatings.

- Allows for high-resolution, customizable designs.

(4) Hot Melt Printing (TPU/PU Coating)        -Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) or polyurethane (PU) is heat-pressed onto the flyknit.

- Provides a durable, flexible, and slightly raised texture.
